Stilwell Incorporation

On February 4, 2008, pursuant to the provisions of K.S.A. 15-115 et seq., a petition to incorporate the city of Stilwell was filed with the County. That petition, having been reviewed and determined to be of sufficient form, was subsequently presented to the Board of County Commissioners for its consideration. On March 20th, as part of its regular session, the Board adopted Resolution  No. 018-08, thereby setting a public hearing on that incorporation petition for Monday, April 14, 2008, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Blue Valley High School gymnasium, located at 6001 West 159th Street. The public comment period for the petition to incorporate the city of Stilwell closed on Friday, April 25, 2008, at 5:00 p.m.

 

A special meeting was held by the Board of County Commissioners on Monday, June 2 regarding the petition. At that time, a motion was duly made and Staff was directed to prepare a resolution recommending approval of the petition and submit it for formal consideration and action. The item will be heard during the June 5, 2008, Business Session.
