The Clerk is the clerical officer of the Board of
County Commissioners, and is responsible for ensuring that all legal requirements are properly met in the exercise of
its policy-making
powers, thereby preserving the integrity and transparency of the local
legislative process.

The Chief Deputy Clerk is the Clerk's principal assistant to the Clerk. In
addition, she serves as the administrative manager for the department and
coordinates support services.

The deputy clerks attend to the myriad tasks
which support the effective operation of the Board of County Commissioners,
which includes processing, publishing,
and preserving records of its official acts, orders, and judgments. Additionally,
the deputies provide administrative support
to expedite day-to-day departmental operations,
including accounting and purchasing functions, printing and mail services,
research and reference support, and public information.

Meet the Clerk:
Carl was appointed to the clerkship in February 2004. In this capacity, he administers legislative processes and directs the operation of the Board's Office.
Carl holds memberships with the National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials, and Clerks (NACRC); the National Association of County Information Officers (NACIO); International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), and ARMA International.
