Record of Resolutions

Resolutions are used to enact public policies, adopt administrative regulations, and accomplish other operating goals. Typically, three distinctly different types of resolutions are used: charter resolutions, home rule (ordinary) resolutions, and administrative resolutions. The form of the resolution depends upon several factors, including the general and express powers of county government; the restrictions of home rule authority granted by the state legislature and other prohibitions; and whether or not the county government has jurisdiction over the subject matter, among other criteria.
